Happy
45th Anniversary!!!
SOULMATES
FOR LIFE!!!
45
YEARS ~APRIL 6,
2024!!!
Meet
our family!
My
husband Curtis,
my daughter Tabitha
on the right,
our
handsome son-in-law
Jerry!
On
the left is Kate,
our friend visiting
from Belarus!
Nandina Shelties is located
on 5 heavenly acres
in Mount
Ulla, NC
just
right outside of
the resort
area of Mooresville,
N.C. near Lake Norman.
My husband
& I have been
devoted sheltie
lovers for over
35 years.
I
show my dogs in
AKC Events, which
are governed by
the highest
standard
in regards to the
rules
and regulations
for the breed.
On occasion we might venture out
to another registry
such as the United Kennel Club
or the National Canine
Association
to exhibit our shelties
in order to earn
additional titles.
Yes, that's me......
Check out my new toy! This is what you really call
"IMPRINTING FROM BIRTH!"
I
was given my first
sheltie as a toddler,
or should I say
he actually attached
himself to
me in the fall of
1955. A beautiful
bi-black we called
Blackie.
He would
lay beside my crib
day & night,
as my best friend,
and guardian
angel throughout
his life.
My 2nd Sheltie
was a gift for my
8th brithday in
the Spring of 1963
We
called
her Fluffy, because
she looked like
a little fluff ball!
She
was a beautiful
red sable with white
markings.
Even as a small
child
I
had such a deep
affection and love
for dogs that I
would frequent the
local animal shelter
in Charlotte, N.C.
always bringing
home another
furry
four footed critter!
On one special day
I laid my eyes on
the most
beautiful creature,
he was a dark shaded
sable sheltie.
I pleaded
with
my parents to allow
me to bring him
home from the shelter.
Called
him Brandy &
was my 3rd sheltie,
he was very much
like my
AKC Champion Dan in color and
structure. I never new
that the deep love for this
breed had been cultivating
since I was born.
Nandina Shelties
.....
derived
its name from the
Nandina Shrub which
decorated our property
abunduntly.
This hearty shrub
will stand strong
& steadfast
through the
the
most brutal temperatures
whether it be hot
or cold. There are
no pest
or
disease problems
with the Nandina
Shrub nor are they
poisionous to dogs,
so
how nice is that?
We felt it only
fitting to prefix
our kennel name
after the Nandina
bush. Nandina Shrubs
produce white flowers
in the spring
and
bright red berries
which hang like
grapes in the fall
and on through
the
winter months. As
a tip, you can make
beautiful long lasting
table arrangements from this
shrub for the holidays.
Nandina--also
called "Heavenly Bamboo"
THERE NO KENNEL RUNS HERE! OUR
PUPPIES
AND DOGS HAVE PLAY YARDS AND ARE
HOUSED MOSTLY IN OUR HOME!
We maintain
a low number of
Shelties here at
Nandina since we
are getting
older, we
currently only have
5 shelties which
is our comfort zone.
We
like to make sure
we provide enough
time for each dog
when
it comes to individual
Playtime, Grooming
and LOVE!
Our dogs are
health
tested for genetic
defects. We promote
the sheltie because
of its
"ultrasmart"
personality, as
the Shetland Sheepdog
ranks #6 for Intelligence
amoung
ALL the breeds recognized
by AKC. In addition
to the sheltie's
beauty,
they
express the ultamate
warm & loving
temperament, sound
minds,
with
a very elegant fashion
within the structure.
In
our breeding program
our
aim is set high as a concerned, responsible
breeder to produce
according to the
standards of the American Shetland Sheepdog
Association &
AKC.
Our shelties, puppies or adults are placed
in APPROVED homes
only.
We "require spay/neuter contracts"
on all our pet puppies.
We offer a health
guarantee. Our puppies are imprinted
at birth, home raised
with TLC &
socializing skills. ALL of our shelties
are microchipped
for Identification.
We're a breeder that has a deep respect
and passion for
the betterment of
the
breed so hereat Nandina have adopted the
motto
"QUALITY ABOVE
QUANITY".
